A Day in the Life:
The Child Feeding Engagement Specialist at Harvest Hope Food Bank (HHFB) plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's goals for equitable access by developing strategies to form and expand partnerships in underserved areas. This specialist is tasked with forging relationships with school personnel, parents, and children, and with recruiting sites to enhance program effectiveness. They are also responsible for mentoring new partners and addressing partnership challenges to ensure favorable outcomes.

•Program Management: Serve as the primary liaison between HHFB and school partners, improving existing partnerships and forming new ones. This includes recruitment of new sites, program strengthening, and resolving any arising issues to maintain program integrity and effectiveness.
•Monitoring and Site Visits: Oversee and train staff on monitoring protocols, manage the site visit system to ensure compliance with meal delivery, paperwork accuracy, and food safety standards. Support staff in addressing compliance issues and implementing necessary Corrective Action Plans.
•Logistics Management: Direct the administration of the BackPack Buddies and Summer Feeding programs. This includes all phases from planning and implementation to monitoring, invoicing, and ensuring compliance. Address logistical challenges such as site discrepancies and product damage, and manage data entry and issuance coordination for warehouse and volunteer teams.
•Training: Coordinate comprehensive training for all SFSP sites, focusing on food safety, enrollment processes, and the maintenance of necessary documentation.
•Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to budget, funding, and food safety regulations. Manage contracts, keep accurate records, and forge annual community partnerships. Compile and analyze data for funding requests and reports, ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal guidelines, and develop corrective action plans for compliance risks. Act as HHFB's contact for compliance-related inquiries from the Department of Social Services (DSS) and Department of Education (DOE).
•Support Functions: Operate a Help Desk for partner agencies, facilitate communication, assist in maintaining compliance forms, manage extensive email communications, and prepare required reports for various stakeholders.
•Community Engagement: Actively represent and promote HHFB’s mission and programs within the community, engaging in networking to build support and participating in food raiser and development activities as necessary.
•Additional Roles: Occasionally act as a community ambassador or spokesperson to further HHFB's reach and impact.


To Qualify for this Position, you must have:
•Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience
•Three or more years of experience working in either customer service, technology, or other related field.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Demonstrated experience in cultivating relationships.
•Self-starter, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
•Excellent communications, interpersonal and customer service skills; comfortable with public speaking
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Must be able to clearly articulate HHFB’s mission.
•Ability to relate effectively and professionally with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives and the public.
•Ability to attend work functions outside of normal work hours, on weekends and evenings, as needed.
•Ability to travel across entire HHFB footprint.

We offer a competitive salary range of $42,000 – 52,000 for this role, equal with experience and qualifications.
