Logistics & Work Environment:

This full-time position at our Midlands (Columbia) Branch involves extended desk work, frequent computer use, and occasional daytime travel. Good vision, mobility, and awareness of warehouse hazards are essential. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

A Day in the Life:

Harvest Hope Food Bank seeks a driven, detail-oriented content creator to produce high-quality content supporting our mission, vision, and values. The content creator will update existing materials, generate new content, find ways to engage our stakeholders, and help shape our stylistic guidelines.

A successful content creator will create engaging material that appeals to stakeholders' interests and promote collaboration to ensure consistency in our collateral.

  • Writing, reviewing, editing, and updating content for Harvest Hope's websites, blogs, marketing materials, social media and similar platforms.

  • Conducting research and interviews to learn more about current trends, developments, and perceptions about the subject matter, and then contextualizing your findings.

  • Assisting the creative team with the design of promotional materials.

  • Using social media to engage stakeholders, respond to questions or complaints, and to promote company initiatives.

  • Collaborating with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.

  • Monitoring social media and company website metrics.

  • Utilizing SEO methods to increase site traffic.

  • Suggesting new ways to promote company offerings and to reach consumers.

  • Create and manage a marketing advisory council consisting of social media influencers and local subject matter experts with a heart for our mission.

  • Other duties as assigned


To Qualify for this Position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communications, or a similar field.

  • Experience creating strong, engaging content.

  • A portfolio of applicable outputs.

  • An understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing.

  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Strong listening and communication skills.

  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
