My name is Kelly Timmons, I’m a Southern Grandmother with over a decade in the food business. We created Kelly’s Kitchen to focus on issues surrounding access to healthy foods as a social justice issue. The negative impact on our society of food deserts and swamps is preventing many children and adults from reaching their potential. In these areas it’s easier to but a honey bun than a banana.
Because habits of eating wholesome foods have been replaced with choosing a box or bag of chemicals and flavors, healthier preparation techniques and recipes have been lost to many. We want to show how to access and prepare healthy foods. We will build communities around food for everyone.
